How did I come to the name of my blog?

Janet had this on her blog....so I have joined in.

Back of the Moon came from a movie that I enjoyed years ago. Heaven Can Wait was the name of the movie, I think. In the movie they go to this beautiful house on a lake, it was so pretty. They called it Back of the Moon. I just love the way it sounds.

Then Janet talks about her name.

My name is Mary Ellen. I hated this name because the boys at elementry school would tease me...Mary Ellen Jams and Jelly's, it was hard enough being a redhead with all the blonde blue eyed girls...so I decided when I went into Jr. High that I would be just Mary. My Mother hated that I did this, she never called me just Mary. My Dad called me Red, so does Arney. And my Grandparents called me Doll.

I knew before I started my blog that it had to have Celtic in the title, as I feel that heritage so strongly. I originally called it Celtic Woman but was so often confused with the female singing group that I changed it.

That is so sweet, that your Grandparents called you "Doll." I didn't like my name when I was a child either. I wasn't made fun of, but I just didn't like it back then. So, when I became a teenager I started to call myself Rena. I'm a gemini, so I think I liked having that split identity. Anyway, I tired of that many years ago, so now I'm just plain Maureen, and I finally like the name.

I'm so glad you played along. I've always loved the name of your blog and now I know the story behind it.

I don't think I've ever seen Mary Ellen jams and jellies! But that just makes you famous to be associated with them. Those kids were probably just jealous of you!

The name of your blog is great. We didn't know what we were doing when we named ours:) We would pick something different now, but after to years of being 'Crazy' why change now. I grew up hating my first name Twyla, because kids made fun of how different it was. I guess kids make fun no matter what your name is! We were almost as cold as you this morning! 16 degrees is pretty chilly for S. MO, but no snow. Have a great weekend! Twyla

Hi Mary!
Your banner is so cute, especially that first pic! Made me smile...
My name is really Betty, and everyone called me Betty Lou! AHHHHHH I hated that name! My hubby changed it to "Betzie" and that's been me eversince(we met in High School). :)
Cute post and love the music!

I love the way your blog name sounds too!

Mine.. simply the first 4 letters of my last name and the first 3 of my first. Thus, I also go by Cat online, although mostly I'm Cathy in real life...

Have a great day, L/C
