Happy Easter
As you all know, it is hard to catch up after being ill, I am doing just fine, but can't seem to find a starting place. Cleaning, washing, you know the stuff we would rather not do is so behind. I just need a little time to get some things done...and to go see all your wonderful blogs, Like the rabbit, I'm Late!

Here comes the Clown to wish you a very Happy April.
I hope you will have a very nice Easter. I will fix Arney and I a dinner. He works all day Sunday so we couldn't really make plans. And they are calling for rain/and who knows maybe some more snow. I am digging out all the stuff to start working on our family genealogy. I was doing it all the time years ago, I really lost interest when my Mama died. Arney is interested in finding his family, and has really spent allot of time searching, he has had some real luck in finding some, I am going to start searching to. We now belong to Ancestry.com, and when my eye is a little better the search is on. It got Arney thinking while watching the new show, "Who Do You Think You Are." I recommend it, you will enjoy it. Arney is not on the computer much because he is on them at work, so he doesn't see it in the same way I do. But I am getting a kick out of him, he is reading, writing, and when finding something he is so excited...it is very cool! So maybe for awhile I will be sharing things that we find...Let Them Eat Eggs:)

Last Day of March!
It is hard to think this is the last day of March. I feel like I missed so much of it. We have had days with blue skies, but mostly gray with rain, then snow, hail, and the endless wind. I have not done much, couldn't watch TV or be on the computer because my eye was almost swollen shut and the pain was over the top!!! I looked like someone has hit me really hard on the right side of my face. But with good meds, I am almost well. To be honest, everything hurt!!!! I have not been creative a all, it was not a fun time. The one good thing is my Doctor was very happy with my weight loss...gave me a big hug! I will get back in the grove, whatever that means...I have not really thought much about a project yet. I have missed you all and will start looking at all you have done while I was away. Being sick is awful, you miss so much!!!!

Well, I am sick!
Sinus and eye infection has sent me to bed....The whole right side of my face is infected. My eye is so painful that I can hardly function...Went to the doctor this morning and got meds, so until my eye is better...I will be off the computer. It hurts to do anything right now. Have fun for me...hugs, Mary

A wonderful gift and I made a tote today...The One That Got Away is the prompt
Arney came home from work saying, lets go to Costco. I love to go there and on the way he shared that we would be looking at Monitors for my computer....Yikes. I had the box type, it is old, but worked good. Cory my son had given me a Monitor yesterday that was a flat screen, so I was happy. But Arney wanted this big one for me, so this was what I came home with this evening. It is 24 inches, it is amazing.
I had taken out the sewing machine today and made myself a tote, and thought about making some for the girls, I think this turned out good. It is a heavy soft fabric and I really had fun making it. I had this fabric from a yard sale last year...I loved the look and feel of it but really had no idea what it might become.

It was warm sunny with a little breeze, it felt so good. If it is the same tomorrow, I will be in the back yard part of the day. happy Spring! Mary
I continue to be apart of Art journal-ing, and it has been really fun. 1960 & 1963 was a time of many changes. School was all about friends, homework, The next dance, the cars, the hair, Coca Cola, gum, clothes, the Music was apart of everything. Good parents, bad parents, freedom, babysitting, who like who and who loves you? The slang that we loved and our parents hated. And the list goes on!!!!!!! click on page to enlarge:)

Collage...Orange.... Waste of time...Listen to Music....Sharpie
There must be loads more things that can be done with a sharpie, but this was all I could come up with. I must have 6 or seven sharpies, some are large points, some are medium and then fine.

Opera was one of the first forms of public entertainment. They were some of the first real musical stars all around the world. Although I am not a fan of this form of music, I can realize its importants of the time. Hale! Hale! Rock and Roll.

When I was growing up there were orange tree's as far as the eye could see in Southern, California. And the smell of the blossom's were amazing.

The prompt is "Collage." I think because my Grandparents were part of the migration from Oklahoma to California, I find a connection to this history. They left the land they loved with hope that this California would give them back a life less tragic...but the truth was that they found life very hard. After a few years of picking fruit and cotton, cutting grapes Grandpa became a Share Cropper. He worked 40 ac of cotton, which gave him a house and very little money. So they really never gained back what they had in Oklahoma, they never owned land in California. But what I remember is the love, the laughter, and the hard work that was the fabric of our family.

Past, Doodle, Blue, credit cards , future, engine
The prompt is engine....And since I love old pictures it was clear that it should be a old train of some kind. I had found this picture somewhere, and loved it. But didn't have a reason to use it until today. Have a great weekend, Mary

The prompt is Future....I thought about so many things, future cities, people, but the truth is we do not really know what the future looks like. If the people in the 50's would have been right, we would be flying cars and going back and forth to the moon right now. So we dream of what might be, but enjoy today...right now!

the prompt is credit cards....

Gift bag for Summit...Grandson turns 10 on Sunday!
I bought a plain large gift bag. Found some really cool tissue paper to put inside with his gift....then waited for the idea's to come. I made large letters on regular computer paper. Found my Martha Stewart glitter ...now I have glitter all over me, the floor, it is probably in my hair. Arney had taken pictures of Summit in January playing his really special drum's, and he can really play them! So I enlarged the picture and cut it out and put it in the middle of what I will call a star burst. Summit has said a few times "You Rock Grandma!" So I thought this was away of letting him know I think he Rock's also. He will be 10 years old Sunday....time sure does fly! Summit is a very gifted little guy. He is an A student and plays sports like a pro! Am I a Grandma or what??? Since I have done my bragging thing, I hope this is a little food for thought when getting a plain gift bag. I am so loving the sun today, I can hardly wait to be busy in my yard! Have a great Weekend, Mary click on picture to enlarge:)

Journal page # 8
The background with peach, blue-green and black reminded me of the 50's. And I could not think of a thing to do with the pages...so I looked at them for two days...the first thing was to ink in the butterfly and flowers.....I liked it, but how do I stay with the theme getting my weight off...then it hit me that I had seen charts where ladies were large down to small. And the rest fell into place. Have a great weekend...Hugs, Mary
