While Living in the Past

I wanted to share a little of what has taken over my life. I have really just started but already it has been many hours researching and making sure that you have all the right family in the right place. I must say that it is very interesting, and fun. You start to think of each person in a very different way.. Things like.. where did I find Sarah, and is her husband Joesph or was it William?? These are beautiful people in a time that meant everything to them. That I can take a peek into their life opens the mind to what life might have been. I may not do much else for awhile, so you may get tired of my rambling about this, but I have planned to put together a album for our family...I think this is more valuable than anything I could craft. Leaves of Life! And it is good for me to be busy with this, it takes my mind off of food for long periods of time.

Yard Sell Jar's

My daughter Jenny and I did some shopping yesterday and along the way we stopped at a few yard sales. I really like old jar's. So when I found these for a dollar each, I was one happy girl. I use jar's in my pantry...but the size of these were just perfect for the kitchen counter. So I washed them and made my own labels, so now they are neatly arranged where I really need them. It was a fun project. I have larger jar's and smaller...these rang my bell. I want to thank you for your comments on the cheese...we will not soon forget this.

What can a block of cheese tell us????

A short story......While cooking dinner, you go to your refrigerator to get out a block of cheese. You know that it is in there. But it is not there, you search behind, up, down open close, it is not there. So you say, where did the cheese go honey? It is in there, I saw it. So you continue to look, but Alas it is not there. Feeling odd, getting a little stressed. Arney starts looking for that block of cheese in the refrigerator, he cannot find it, meanwhile I am looking in the pantry, maybe it got put in there by mistake. The next thing I know he has opened the trash can, and under a cereal box was that block of cheese. I do not know who put it in there, was it Arney or me. You know your getting old when you put a new block of cheese in the trash and forget that you put it there. At least he found it:)

Hanging on my wall

This has been taking up most of my time...I decided to tape a very large paper on my wall behind where I set at my computer. It gets confusing as you research each person, each family line. This is my way of not getting it wrong. I think it makes a decoration statement at this time( this is what I am into right now). It is my share today...glue, scissors and allot of computer time.

Notes For My Granddaughter

The gifts I bought for my Granddaughter have a theme. It is Fancy Nancy. So here are the love notes I did for her. Then I made little envelopes to put each note in. The envelopes are 3 by 2 inches, they are fun to make. I even put pretend stamps on the envelopes. Sunday evening is her party. She is a really fun and sweet girl, she could talk the ears off a Elephant, and I love her energy, she is a keeper!!!

A Journal for Alexis

Alexis will be 8 in a few days. I think she will like this as part of her gift. I really liked the way the writing pages were done, I think she can draw a picture on the top part and then write something in the lines...I also put a see through pocket for little things she might like to save on the inside of the back page. I am going to put little notes to her there...just little love notes to my Granddaughter, I think she will like that.

This is my first project since being ill....But I have not been idle...I have spent hours researching my family Tree. It takes allot of time, but I think it is really worth while for my kids and myself. I have already found family that were really lost to me. Arney got us started. I have dreamed about this the last couple of nights, putting people in the right order and looking for photos and stories can really take your life over. Today I took all that I have learned and put into binders so that it will be less complicated to go back to each person. I am finding some really good stuff, the stores are the best, this is a fun adventure.
I have started another blog that I have named Our House. You will find the link at the top of the page on the left. It is random things, no order to it...just things I want to share with my family and friends. It is still raining and not as warm as we wish it could be, but I have been in the flower garden cleaning and getting every plant happier. Arney has been trimming trees and hauling stuff off to the local dump.
I plan to go to each of your blogs and see all that you have done while I have been under the control of my ancestors. Love, Mary

Happy Easter

As you all know, it is hard to catch up after being ill, I am doing just fine, but can't seem to find a starting place. Cleaning, washing, you know the stuff we would rather not do is so behind. I just need a little time to get some things done...and to go see all your wonderful blogs, Like the rabbit, I'm Late!

Here comes the Clown to wish you a very Happy April.

I hope you will have a very nice Easter. I will fix Arney and I a dinner. He works all day Sunday so we couldn't really make plans. And they are calling for rain/and who knows maybe some more snow. I am digging out all the stuff to start working on our family genealogy. I was doing it all the time years ago, I really lost interest when my Mama died. Arney is interested in finding his family, and has really spent allot of time searching, he has had some real luck in finding some, I am going to start searching to. We now belong to Ancestry.com, and when my eye is a little better the search is on. It got Arney thinking while watching the new show, "Who Do You Think You Are." I recommend it, you will enjoy it. Arney is not on the computer much because he is on them at work, so he doesn't see it in the same way I do. But I am getting a kick out of him, he is reading, writing, and when finding something he is so excited...it is very cool! So maybe for awhile I will be sharing things that we find...Let Them Eat Eggs:)

Last Day of March!

It is hard to think this is the last day of March. I feel like I missed so much of it. We have had days with blue skies, but mostly gray with rain, then snow, hail, and the endless wind. I have not done much, couldn't watch TV or be on the computer because my eye was almost swollen shut and the pain was over the top!!! I looked like someone has hit me really hard on the right side of my face. But with good meds, I am almost well. To be honest, everything hurt!!!! I have not been creative a all, it was not a fun time. The one good thing is my Doctor was very happy with my weight loss...gave me a big hug! I will get back in the grove, whatever that means...I have not really thought much about a project yet. I have missed you all and will start looking at all you have done while I was away. Being sick is awful, you miss so much!!!!

Well, I am sick!

Sinus and eye infection has sent me to bed....The whole right side of my face is infected. My eye is so painful that I can hardly function...Went to the doctor this morning and got meds, so until my eye is better...I will be off the computer. It hurts to do anything right now. Have fun for me...hugs, Mary

"Pretend"

Pretend was the prompt, and since I really like the victorian era, this was a fun pretend! Have a great weekend.
