Arney and I owned 2 of them. The one in this picture was really “Cherry!” It was our show off car. Friday night in Bellflower, California we would cruse the Blvd and then go to Helen Grace for the best ice cream ever. We would meet with friends and get brain freeze from the wonderful creams. The booths were pink, and the whole place was in pink, black and turquoise. It never came out of the 50’s.
Then there was Tweedy blvd in Hollywood, this was where everyone went, you saw the most beautiful cars there almost nightly. And our Chevy was a stand out.
This was a time for fun, no one wanted to shoot you, it was the 60’s and before things went crazy.

You look SO cute - and the '55 is absolutely the best!
Thanks for sharing.
My dad had a yellow and white chevy with big fins in the 50's. Not sure what year it was!!
I do remember pink black and turquoise!
Poodle dog skirts and big crinlin half slips to puff them way out...
A & W rootbeer drive in is where we hung out.
Out door movie theaters...for making out. LOL I never made out though! Darn.
Were those the good old days?
Our family had a 54 mercury, loved that car,but my boyfriend taught me to drive in his 51 white ford, it was a stick shift.
We still enjoy listening to the music from the 50's.
My step-brother owned a 57 Chevy, I think it was. He owned it though, in the 70's, and it was cool then, too.
I can't imagine paying for the gas to drive those cars everyday now. Whoo!
The loss of innocence, when do you suppose it happened, really?
I used to love drive-ins. We still have a couple in our area, but when I was a child they were everywhere. My mom had a big old white chest of drawers filled with 45's, and I grew up listening to a lot of the music from the 50's and 60's.
Nope, never drove one or rode in one. I've always been a Ford gal. But I do remember them.
You look so cute next to the car.
Nope, my first car was a 54 Studebaker Champion. You may remember it. It was my mothers car back when you lived in Camino.
