Today

Friday morning at 8:00 Arney will be having surgery. We have been waiting for some tests to come back, and he has a Para-Thyroid Tumor. He will stay in the hospital over night so they can watch over him. He will be off work for two weeks. They have no reason to believe it is cancer, a prayer or two for my best friend and forever partner if ya get a minute. I have been trying to not bring this to my blog, but it has all become very real...and we do share so much.

103 degree's

Today I went shopping. I thought it would be cooler in the stores....WRONG! We were all looking for the same thing and it wasn't stuff, everyone seemed to be just a Little cranky. So after cooling of in the fountain I came home and curled up with my air-conditioner. It will be better tomorrow!!!! I should not complain, when winter comes and we are below freezing, I will be sorry I got a bit cranky today.

Flower Power!

We won't take much!!!!! Maxine and Jenny, Max is Jenny's sister-in-law. They are so much fun!

Kayla came to show us her new car. It is used, but it is really nice. My advice was....Don't Hurt IT!

Everyone is getting the biggist kick out of our Sunflowers....they are bending because of the weight. We will have Sunflower seeds in the fall for the Birds...I may try to roast them. Anyone in Blogland know how it's done? It is a beautiful summer day.

Arney & Mary were wed August 15th, 1963

Arney and I knew each other in Jr. High, but we were just friends. I moved to Placerville, California while he lived in Compton, California. so were were 500 miles from each other. I came to visit a friend, she gave a party for me and Arney came. We instantly found a bond and after I went back home we wrote to each other for almost a year without seeing each other. In that exchange of letters we knew each other in a personal way that may not have been without the distance between us. We didn't have a pan to cook in or a towel to dry after a bath....but we had love and our adventure began. Five years later we had our first son Trevor, then Cory and last but not least Jenny.
Now we have 6 grandchildren and another one on the way. I think we might stay together???

Summer Olympics

I have been watching the Olympics a lot this time....I am interested in the contests, but it has been a eye opener when it comes to China. We are doing well even if the air is filled with junk. Hope you are enjoying. The opening night was really beautiful, but a little scary too. Back to the games!

Charmed

Today my lunch group meets. I made this charm for Ruth, she is a school teacher and a very sweet lady. I am making a charm for all the gals, one at a time for their Birthdays. Sometimes it is hard to find a theme, I have to really think about the person. I hope you are all having a great day.

February 9th, 1971 ....6.6 earthquake....Southern California

I was reading Janet's blog when I remembered this. We lived in southern California and I think it was 1971. I had two little boys. I was woke to the shaking and rattling and the sick stomach I get with earth movement under me. Arney was getting ready for work. After I realized we were okay...I thought of our friend Annabelle who lived two doors down. She was a wreck when it came to earthquakes, she even had a shelf full of stuff to rattle so she would know it was a quake. Arney ran to her door and found her holding her to girls and shaking like a leaf...and necked. So he turned his head and told her everything was okay, and could she put something on, he would then take her to our house...and so you never know what you will find during or after a earthquake...
A week later after all the after shocks, a couple we had know since high school moved to Arizona... My first earthquake was in Long Beach California age 7. It flipped my Dad out of bed and my mother was pregnant and had locked the door to the bathroom. Then she was kinda stuck till Dad could help her. It was a slide lock and she was upset and a little confused. I slept right through it. You never forget what you were doing when a earthquake hits....

Sunflowers on a Monday morning

I just had to share our Sunflowers today....they just make me happy, I hope they will you too. You can see our house in the background. It was so beautiful out this morning. The beans are doing very well too, they are on the fence.

It is so fun to watch them grow. I think they grow during the night because every morning they are bigger. We will use them in the winter to feed the birds. We sit them on table in the yard after Halloween.
Good morning Baxter, he has been in another fight....I was just bragging that he got through spring without a battle...

It is great go be a a kid in the park on a beautiuful summer day in July. It is my Birthday! The picnic was really nice. These are the days you remember...the sharing, the laughter, the Love! It was a very happy Birthday!
