Do You Remember This?

I remember our Good Humor man when I was a kid living in Southern California. We would hear him a couple of block away, just enough time to collect money from usually my Dad. And of course we all got one. Sometimes there were 6 or 8 kids standing on the sidewalk waiting for the big moment, what kind do I want this time? He also had some Bubble Gum and Candy that were cold from being in the cooler. Almost every day he came by, but not always did we get to have this little treat. In the hot summer sun of Southern California, there was joy in the melody that played as he went from block to block bringing sweet cold Ice Cream.
I am feeling much better. All this medication has kicked in. I have been working on the Mother~Daughter Teddy Bear Tea, I haven't done as much as I should have so I will be hitting it hard the next few days.

No Good Humor man for me! As a kid I grew up in a rural area and we didn't have ice cream trucks come around. But there was a little neighborhood grocery store not too far away where I could get ice cream.

I'm glad the meds have kicked in. Just don't work too much and over do it!

Oh yes, dad kept a cigar box with loose coins in mom's desk drawer and I could go in and get a nickel.
Loved 50/50 bars and chocolate nut covered cones. forget their name. They still sell them.

So glad you are getting better!
We have ice cream trucks who drive around our residential streets in spring and summer.
They bring back childhood memories!

Glad to hear that you are getting better. Oh The Good Humor Man, brings back floods of wonderful memories. Even my dog Cindy used to run to the corner when we heard that familiar tune.

Since I lived where Janet did no Good Humor truck for us. Glad you are feeling better, don't overdo. Loved the picture of you and Arney when you were young.

Our town was too little to have a Good Humor truck. I think most towns in ND were! But when we went to the Crosby swimming pool we would go to the Tastee Freez or the Dipsy Doodle before walking back to Grandma's house.
