I have missed you...and a baby quilt...

I really don't know where to start...so I will dive in and see what comes to mind. My computer was laid to rest...it burned up or something horrible.. I would turn it on and it would work for about an hour and then all the fans would come on and it would black-out. Then I would have to wait for hours to turn it on again.. I miss it since I was used to it, and it has taken a little time to get going on the new one. It has allot more things going on and will not take some of my old programs:). I was ready to kill it after the third day, just get it out of here...frustration!!! I am still feeling less that ready to use it, but I keep pushing the buttons and hope.
Then it seemed like the sky opened and everything seemed to turn upside down. Arney's 91 year young Mother (Ruth) became gravely ill and had to be put into the hospital in California. So Arney got on a plain out and we prayed that she would hang on for him to get there. Her Kidneys were failing and everything seemed to be shutting down. She was In ICU,it has been a really hard time for us all, she is loved. Arney is still with her and she is doing really well. I think he along with his sister were the best med she could get. Her Kidneys are doing well and she is ready to go home.
While this was going on....I had our Beagle "Matti Anne" put to sleep. She had been ill for along time and it was getting worse by the day. I thought that I was ready to let her go, but when it was time, I could hardly bare it. She was a wonderful little friend and she will always be apart of our life. So many memories...
As for me, I have taken this time away from the computer to clean and work on this little baby quilt. I had not shared that there was a baby coming because our Kristie had some problems and things were unsure at times. But our new baby girl is due July 31st. We didn't think she would go to full term, but so far so good. They are still working on a name...to be continued when I know what they have come up with. This is number 5 for our Cory.
The quilt is baby pink with white polka Dots. I designed the flowers, there are 48 flowers. I am now stitching the quilt together...about half way done, so you see I have not been idol. I am doing everything by hand, I love hand stitching.
I will be going to all of your blogs, it will take awhile so please be patient with me. And I may not be on as often since it is summer and we have so much planned when Arney comes home. And yes, trying to figure this computer out and finding what I need on it to play with pictures and such.
I hope everyone is enjoying summer, I really didn't think it would get here...but it has and everything is growing so pretty. Tonight we have a storm coming in so I have to shut some windows and wait for the big blow!! Miss each and everyone of you....Hugs, Mary

Mary, I'm so sad to hear about Matti Anne. That must have been a difficult decision, but I know you've been concerned about her health and quality of life for a while now. You gave her a lot of love and a wonderful life. ♥♥♥ I'm glad your mother-in-law is doing much better. She sounds like quite the fighter and obviously has more living to do. Take care of yourself, Mary. Hugs to you. ♥♥♥

I'm so sorry to hear about Mattie Anne. What a terrible thing to have to do on your own.

I hope Arney's mom continues to improve....and I hope all goes well with Kristie, too. A new baby! How exciting!! And the quilt is going to be beautiful. I love the flowers. You are such a talented gal!!

PS - I sure do sympathize with you about the new computer. I always have trouble changing to anything new and different.

I'm sorry to hear about your Mother in law, but glad she stablelized and can go home.

And sorry about your sweet Mattie! Hopefully things will get on a smoother spell for you.

I also understand the frustrations of a new computer! Hang in there!

Lastly, I love your appliqued flowers on the baby quilt! That looks like good therapy stitching those.

Have a good week, Smiles, Cat

Mary- I am so sorry to hear about Arney's Mom, they are all in my thoughts. I am also sorry about the loss of Mattie, I know how special she is to your family.
Megan is going through some of the same issues- Grandma is on hospice and it hopefully won't be much longer- Megan is taking it very hard...I wish that there was more that I could do for her to take away her pain.
I am happy to hear that Kristie is doing better- the quilt you are making for this little one is beautiful- I know how special your quilts are and still cherish the one you made for me.
I hope that the new computer gets easier- keeping you and your family in my thoughts- love you-Sara
