My Birthday week....

My Grandma Stinnett made this dress for me. It was really sweet, I remember twirling in this dress. It had a gold pattern in the fabric. Grandma sewed it on her treadle sewing machine. I learn to sew on that machine. Thank you Grandma for this lovely gift...age 7.

Oh No! Not more tags....

I have made 35 bags of 8 for selling at Bazaar and 100 tags for tagging items for selling at Bazaar. Could there be more coming...to be continued :)

Lavender Fun!

I got up bright and early to cut Lavender this morning. And right in the middle of my fun it started to rain. And now the sun is shinning, and it will be about 80 today. This is for a very dear friend that I have known sense 1982. She is a lovely lady that is so talented. She teaches, and plays piano, and is a crafting artist. So I made her this arrangement this morning and put it on her porch. A little Thank You for always understanding me. And the gift of her never ending friendship. Don't ya just love to do the unexpected..... I wish you could smell these.

I have been buying Arney big can's of Peaches. He seems to be craving them. So I have been saving the can's without really having a reason. So I came up with this idea and I really thought it turned out fun. The ribbon is like a linen, but more rustic. I used letter stamps to put the word Lavender on the ribbon. It is fun to do something different now and then.

I am still cutting Lavender, it will take awhile, and I will let them dry in these very large cans.

Babies are born...a really good cobbler

Thought with all the fruit right now, I wanted to share this really good cobbler. This can be made with just about any fruit. I am making it tonight with peaches. You can use fresh fruit or canned, frozen too. There are so many ways to make a cobbler, but this was my favorite. I have been making it for many years.

At the back of our farm is a very old tree that we love...It is more than a hundred years old. About 5 years ago we saw our first Hawk go into this tree and soon there was a nest about 75 ft up on a very large branch. Soon there was babies, we could hear them calling for food. Mom and Dad were really busy bring in the food.
Arney went out this morning and here is the new little family.
Some people are not real fond of Hawks, they come back every year. They never bother anything and they catch the field mice, and that is a very good thing. I thought these were really pretty good pictures considering how far up they were. You can see how big the nest is....And our blue Idaho sky.

I just can't stop making tags...so you may see a new batch now and then. More now than then!!!
I was never really good at ATC's. For some reason I am a tag girl right now. But tomorrow is another day. I need to get back to making charms...time fly's and October will be here before I know it. click on photo to see them better.

More Lavender...it smells so good!

My Daisy's are really doing well this year...These were a gift from Jenny a couple of years ago.

Larkspur is a big favorite of mine...and it dries really well too. My daughter Jenny will be here soon to take some home.

I am a lavender lover....I give alot away too. It is almost cutting time.

If you look real close you will see that LB is eating berries. This patch belongs to Matti Anne and LB. I have another patch in the front yard for us.

Arney's first real outing

Our day started with Trevor & Terri taking us to breakfast at the Ihop....ate way to much! Arney did really good. So we have passed another milestone. Then Cory came without family because two of his four kids were sick. He gave Arney a 100 dollar gift card for Kohl's. Then
Cory left and Jenny, Doug, and Summit came with cake and ice cream. Summit gave his Grandpa a all stars game cap that says, "#1 Nell"
Summit made all stars this year in baseball, not bad for a 9 year old. So Arney had a very nice day. He was tired and went to bed early.

Pulling glue off my figures

Thank You Sandy.."Quill Cottage" for sharing this fun idea for tags....I haven't been doing anything really creative for awhile so this was fun. Glue in my hair, little tiny pieces of paper flying everywhere, buttons on the floor, string that won't go through the buttons...it felt really good. Arney is doing more for himself everyday..he is doing so well. Click on page to make larger.

I had cut out a tiny little key...no bigger than 1/4 inch. It fell into a bunch of cut up papers left over from other cuttings....it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. I found did, could not pick it up but I had enough glue on my figure to stick to it. Yea, I was ready to add it to the tag....I dropped it again! I started the search again and was feeling very frustrated when once again I was able to get it up with this glued figure. What is the point of this little story....never give up, it looks really cute on the tag!!!!

I have started my second Blog.

I don't know how often I will post there, but I hope often because I have long wanted to tell my little story. Sometimes it is good to just write it down. The good, the wonderful, the beautiful and sometimes the sad. Some people do not remember things from their toddler age, and that might be good. But since I do remember...I have shared what is clear.
