I thought it would be kind of fun to pull a few pictures from the year and share since this year seems to be flying by. I found this picture of a relative of mine and it made me think of this year. I call this year, "the year of the gun". And looking at this picture from the 1850's gave me pause to think of how it must have been in the Ole West. It would be of interest to know if this man killed anyone with his gun. Did he walk into the local saloon and shot a bunch of people at random? We have a long history of gun fighters and street shootings. I guess if there is a question here, it would be have we learned anything from history.

Coming home to Blogland
It has been a busy year. I look forward to sharing the day to day things, the events, the projects, and just being apart of this community of creative, lovely friends.
I hope to find some things of interest to share as I gather myself together. I have to unpack, put away, find the box with all the treasures and then share them with you. Your, Mary

apple pie enchiladas
Apple Pie Enchiladas
These are incredible easy to make and are Out Of This World Good!
*Please Share Me*
Ingredients:...
1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
6 (8 inch) flour tortillas
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Spoon about one heaping quarter cup of pie filling evenly down the center of each tortilla. Sprinkle with cinnamon (I have my cinnamon in a shaker bottle, so I just sprinkle some on each as I am rolling them) roll up, tucking in edges; and place seam side down in prepared dish.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes, remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Pour sauce over enchiladas and let stand 45 minutes ..
Don't rush the 45 minute resting time for the sauce on the enchiladas before baking, this step helps to magically transforms the flour tortillas into a faux pasty dough
Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes, or until golden
Enjoy!!
Each sauce recipe is enough for 6 Apple Pie Enchiladas
*I usually make a double batch of sauce ..
Its That Good!

How Irish are you?
How Irish are you? Since I have been working on our family Pedigree for sometime now, I find a lot of Irish blood. First I have red hair which seems to tell a lot about me, and brown eyes. And if you put Arney's family with mine it gets even more so for our kids. So here is a list of surnames that float around in my family line. Davis, Durbin, Bradley, Robey, Taylor, Collins, MacColinn. So here's to us, Irish to the bone.
You might ask why does it matter where we come from? It matters because they lived, and we are all they have left….

For my Great Niece Celia
Since I have been knitting most of the time…I have been MIA. I don’t think anyone is really interested in stocking caps and shawls.
I miss everyone, and I will settle down soon and do something’s to share.
For now here is what I have made for my niece. I used my Mothers Pearls so that Celia will have something old from her much loved Grandmother who passed away in 2003.Since they were on a broken string, I used what I needed and made the necklace.
Spring is almost here!!!!!
I thought this would be pretty going down her back.

Merry Christmas
Our first snow storm dropped 5 inches in our town. Then the temps dropped and ice was on every branch, so beautiful, a winter wonder land. Then we got 3 more inches of snow. If the temps stay low we will have a white Christmas.
So many wonderful things happened in 2013. I did not share a lot because I was not wonderful. Sometimes when the sun is shinning, I only felt the gray. Depression does that. I am working on me, and with my amazing family, and Gods healing hand I will find the light at the end of the tunnel.
You might ask? What is wrong. When I find the complete answer then I will be well. Yes, I have my Dr, this too will pass.
I have wrapped all the presents
I have decorated the tree
I am making cookies with my husband tomorrow.
And then on Christmas eve I will be with my family for a sweet evening with friends, family of all ages.
I wish you all the blessing of the Christmas, I wish you love.

I know it has been way to long!!!
I could make a list of all the reasons I haven’t been posting, but it is easier to just say depression…it does come, and I its victim.
Got through Thanksgiving, now to give Christmas all that I can. First at my Daughters home on Thanksgiving day and then for games and sweets the following night at our Sons home. It was so nice!!!
I made little gift jars. These are for our teens and almost teens. They are filled with everything you might need to polish nails. These are for Christmas.
Went to the craft store and bought flowers and then added little rhinestones to them. then glue them on jars. I used Chalk paint for the label and chalk ink to put their first name letter on each one. You can see Finn is in the background, he hates crafting. Each Jar contains different colors of polish, that way they can share.
Nampa, Old Town at Christmas time. It seems we have a snow storm coming tonight, but today the sun is shinning. My all your days be filled with the Joy of this Christmas season.

I will just set here!
I have been so lazy this Halloween…I got a small pumpkin and got out the Witch I won last year at the Christmas party. It has scared the dogs…this is a good sign..TEE HEE! Every time they walk by her, she laughs just like a witch might sound. No candy yet because i will eat it…and since we are out of town and not in a track home, no one comes anyway. I am just not feeling the Halloween spirit….maybe I should just lay down and play dead, maybe someone would notice!!! happy Halloween!!!
